According to a survey by Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC), Ridwan Kamil is the most spontaneously chosen figure by respondents in a simulation of the 2024 West Java gubernatorial election.
The spontaneous electability rate of the former West Java governor (2018-2023) reached 25.2%.
Below him is former Purwakarta Regent Dedi Mulyadi, chosen by 16.3%, Bima Arya with 1.3%, and Deddy Mizwar with 0.9%.
The combined votes for other figures reached 6.1%, with each name receiving less than 0.9% of the vote.
However, 50.1% of respondents did not answer.
"Half of the voters in West Java cannot spontaneously name [their choice]. This indicates that the choices are still quite fluid, and this is also related to the lack of definitive candidates," said SMRC Executive Director Deni Irvani in the video *Potential Candidates in the West Java Gubernatorial Election* on his YouTube channel, uploaded on Friday (7/6/2024).
SMRC also conducted a simulation of the West Java gubernatorial election with two names, Ridwan Kamil and Dedi Mulyadi. Ridwan Kamil won with 60.5% of the vote, while his opponent received 37.9%.
Deni believes that Ridwan Kamil's high electability is influenced by the satisfaction of West Java residents with his performance as governor.
86% of respondents claimed to be satisfied with the former governor's performance. This breaks down to 11% very satisfied and 78% quite satisfied.
On the other hand, only 12% of respondents stated dissatisfaction, consisting of 11% somewhat dissatisfied and 1% completely dissatisfied.
This SMRC survey involved 810 respondents in West Java who have the right to vote or are over 17 years old. Respondents were selected using a stratified random sampling method.
Data collection was conducted from May 27 to June 2, 2024, through face-to-face interviews. The survey's margin of error is approximately 3.5% at a 95% confidence level.
