Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic period in 2020, the economic growth in this region is seen to be higher. Previously, the post-pandemic growth at the end of 2021 was recorded at 2.08%.

According to BPS publications, with a total population of 163.82 thousand people, the per capita GRDP in this region was recorded at Rp32,479 thousand per capita per year. This per capita GRDP ranks 406th nationally.
Of the 17 sectors driving the economy in this city, the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector is the leading one.
In first place is the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector. In 2024, this sector contributed the largest GRDP with a value of Rp1.38 million. This GRDP grew by 4.53%.
In second place is the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sector, which grew by 1.35% to reach Rp722.33 thousand million, while the public administration, defense and compulsory social security sector is in third place with a GRDP of Rp593.65 thousand million (7.5%).
