Coffee Shop Survey: Anies Baswedan Best Governor in Java

The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, is perceived as the governor with the best performance on the island of Java. This was stated by the Indonesian Public Opinion Discussion and Study Group (KedaiKopi) in their survey report entitled *Opportunities from Outside Java*.

KedaiKopi conducted a survey of public perception regarding the performance of governors on the island of Java in January 2022. This survey used eight indicators, including handling of Covid-19 issues, poverty, health, education, public transportation, employment, security, and corruption.

According to the survey results, Anies Baswedan received the highest score in almost all indicators compared to other governors.

In the transportation issue handling indicator, the DKI Jakarta Governor received a score of 36.8, Covid-19 handling 35.9, education 28.9, corruption 27.2, health 26.4, employment 25.2, poverty 23.7, and security 21.5.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, ranked second, but received the highest score in the poverty handling indicator, namely 34.

Then, the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, ranked third, followed by the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa, the Governor of Yogyakarta Special Region Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, and the Governor of Banten Wahidin Halim.

This survey was conducted on 1,202 respondents aged 17-65 years spread across 34 provinces. The survey was conducted from January 17-24, 2022, using the face-to-face interview (computer-assisted personal interviewing) method, with a margin of error of ±2.83% and a 95% confidence interval.
