"Danur: The Last Chapter" Becomes Indonesia's Top-Grossing Film During the 2026 Eid Holiday

During the 2026 Eid holiday, Indonesian cinemas were filled with various films from both domestic and international sources.

According to CinePoint data, Danur: The Last Chapter became the best-selling film during that period. From its release on March 18 to March 25, 2026, this horror film was watched by 1.63 million viewers.

This film is the final sequel of the Danur universe that debuted in 2017, adapted from the best-selling novel and true story by Risa Saraswati.

Danur: The Last Chapter continues the story of Risa (Prilly Latuconsina), after she has been separated from her ghost friends for many years. She decides to shut down her ability to communicate with the supernatural world.

However, the situation changes when her sister, Riri (Zee Asadel), is proposed to in an old performance building and shows strange behavior leading up to the wedding. At the same time, Risa also experiences a series of strange events, as if she is feeling a painful death repeatedly.
