According to a Poltracking Indonesia survey, 37.9% of general public respondents believe President Prabowo needs to carry out a reshuffle or cabinet shake-up of the Merah Putih Cabinet.
Among respondents who support a reshuffle, the majority want a cabinet shake-up in the economic sector.
Here are the details of the ministerial sectors deemed to require a reshuffle, according to the Poltracking survey:
- Economic Sector: 18.1%
- Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correctional Affairs Sector: 14.1%
- Food Sector: 8.4%
- Infrastructure and Regional Development Sector: 8.2%
- Political and Security Sector: 5.4%
- Community Empowerment Sector: 3.8%
- Human Development and Culture Sector: 3.1%
- Others: 14.4%
Additionally, 24.5% of respondents did not know or did not answer when asked which ministry needed a shake-up.
The survey also found several reasons why the public believes Prabowo needs to carry out a reshuffle. The majority, or 54.6%, cited unsatisfactory ministerial performance.
"The factor of unsatisfactory ministerial performance is the most determining factor when considering a cabinet reshuffle. Why is a change needed? Because of performance, not legal cases or other factors," said Poltracking Executive Director Hanta Yuda during a press conference on Sunday (October 19, 2025).
Some respondents also desired a reshuffle due to issues of abuse of power (6.2%), not being suitable for the ministry they lead (6%), and ministers holding dual positions as party chairpersons (5.9%).
This survey involved 1,220 respondents aged 17 and above or already married, spread across various regions of Indonesia. Samples were selected using a multistage random sampling method.
Data collection was conducted from October 3-10 using face-to-face interviews. The survey has a margin of error of plus/minus 2.9% and a 95% confidence level.
