According to a Populi Center survey, a majority of Indonesians want the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres 2024) to be completed in a single round of voting.

"As many as 64.9% of respondents want the Pilpres to be held in one round," said Populi Center researcher Hartanto Rosojati in an online press conference on their YouTube account, Thursday (9/11/2023).

Furthermore, 26.9% of respondents want the presidential election next year to be held in two rounds.

Meanwhile, 4% of respondents said they didn't mind whether the election was held in one or two rounds, and 4.2% didn't know or didn't answer.

The survey also shows that a majority, or 63.9% of respondents, are optimistic that the 2024 Pilpres will be held in one round.

On the other hand, 31.3% of respondents are unsure about this, and 4.8% of respondents didn't know or didn't answer.

The 2024 Pilpres will involve three pairs of candidates, and could potentially be held in two rounds if no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote in the first round.

The three candidate pairs in the 2024 Pilpres are Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, and Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (alias Cak Imin).

This survey was conducted from October 29 to November 5, 2023, involving 1,200 respondents representing the demographics of all Indonesian provinces. The survey was conducted face-to-face using the Populi Center application.

Sample selection was conducted using multistage random sampling, with a margin of error of 2.83% and a 95% confidence level.
