Denny JA's LSI: Anies-Sandi Will Be Eliminated in the First Round

The Indonesian Survey Circle (LSI) Denny JA predicts that the gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial candidate pair Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno will be eliminated in the first round of the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election this coming February. This prediction is based on the results of the LSI Denny JA survey, which states that Anies-Sandi's electability is only 21.4 percent. Two other pairs are leading with electability rates above 30 percent.

LSI Denny JA researcher, Ardian Sopa, stated that three factors support their prediction. First, the loss of Anies-Sandi voters from the upper-middle class due to their meeting with the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front. Second, the lack of flagship programs campaigned massively. Third, the greater appeal of other pairs compared to Anies-Sandi.

The survey was conducted by LSI Denny JA from January 5-11, 2017, using a random face-to-face interview method with 880 respondents in five administrative areas in DKI Jakarta. The margin of error used is +/- 3.4 percent. This research is claimed to use internal funds and is not affiliated with any candidate.
