Ganjar Pranowo Has Highest Presidential Candidate Electability According to LSI in August 2022

Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo was most frequently named as a presidential candidate (Capres) in a national survey conducted by LSI from August 13-21, 2022. This fact was revealed in a report titled "Findings of the National Survey on Economic Conditions and the Political Map Ahead of 2024."

In a closed simulation survey with 7 names, Ganjar Pranowo achieved an electability rating of 28.3% of respondent votes. He was followed by Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto with 25.8% and Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan with 25.7%.

Following them were Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) with 3.3%, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir with 2.3%, Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) Puan Maharani with 2.2%, and Golkar Party Chairman Airlangga Hartarto with 1.7%. Those who answered "don't know" (TT)/"didn't answer" (TJ) totaled 10.5%.

Ganjar Pranowo also achieved the highest electability rating not only in the 7-name simulation, but also in the 19-name semi-open simulation and the 10-name closed simulation. His electability even topped the list in the 3-name closed simulation.

The following are the presidential candidate electability ratings from the LSI's 3-name closed simulation:

* Ganjar Pranowo: 31.7%
* Prabowo Subianto: 30.1%
* Anies Baswedan: 28.2%
* TT/TJ: 10%

The LSI national survey involved 1,220 respondents spread across 34 provinces. Sample selection used a multistage random sampling method. The margin of error for the sample size is +/- 2.9% with a 95% confidence level.
