Indikator Politik Indonesia released a survey report titled *National Leadership and Electoral Dynamics Ahead of 2024 in the Eyes of the Young Generation* on Sunday (July 23, 2023).
The report, among other things, records public expectations regarding the All Indonesia Football Association (PSSI).
A majority, or 26.3% of respondents, hope that PSSI can achieve world-class football achievements.
"Achieving achievements in international football events and producing quality football athletes are the biggest hopes of the public towards PSSI," said the Executive Director of Indikator Politik Indonesia, Burhanuddin Muhtadi, in his online survey release on Sunday (July 23, 2023).
Furthermore, 13.9% of respondents hope that PSSI can eradicate match-fixing, and 8.7% hope that the PSSI organization will become more professional.
"If respondents are dissatisfied, it also has an effect on the electability of Erick Thohir (PSSI Chairman) as a vice-presidential candidate," said Burhannudin.
The following is a complete list of respondent expectations regarding PSSI according to the Indikator Politik Indonesia survey:
1. High achievements at the world level: 26.3%
2. Producing quality football athletes: 24.2%
3. Eradicating match-fixing: 13.9%
4. The PSSI organization becoming more professional: 8.7%
5. Promoting national unity and integrity through football: 6.3%
6. Fostering the spirit of sportsmanship among the younger generation: 6%
7. Football helping to improve people's welfare: 5.7%
8. Others: 0.2%
9. Don't know/didn't answer: 8.7%
This survey involved 1,220 respondents selected using a multistage random sampling method. The proportion of male respondents was 49.5% and female respondents 50.5%.
Data was collected from June 20-24, 2023, through face-to-face interviews, with a margin of error of around 2.9% and a 95% confidence level.
