Number of Padel Clubs and Courts in Indonesia Grew Rapidly Through 2025

Padel is a sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. The sport is played with solid rackets and rubber balls on a 20x10 meter court surrounded by 3-4 meter-high walls.

According to the International Padel Federation, padel first emerged in Mexico in 1969, and its popularity has since spread globally.

However, the existence of padel in Indonesia is still relatively new.

According to a report by the sports company Core & Court, in 2021 there were only 3 padel clubs in Indonesia. This number then increased to 293 clubs by 2025.

The growth of these clubs coincided with an increase in the number of padel courts in the country, from just 15 courts in 2021 to 947 courts in 2025.

According to Core & Court, the padel trend in Indonesia is supported by infrastructure development, digital adoption, and strong participation from young people.

"With more than 20,000 players, 439 professional players, and major tournaments increasing visibility, Indonesia has evolved from a niche market to the largest and fastest-growing padel ecosystem in Southeast Asia," said Core & Court in the 2025 Indonesia Padel Report.
