A Katadata Insight Center (KIC) poll shows that entrepreneurship training-based political campaigns are most appealing to young people, particularly millennials and Gen Z. 52.5% of respondents chose this type of campaign.
The second most appealing campaign type was community service, selected by 43.6% of respondents. Public seminars and discussions followed in third place with 37.7%.
Furthermore, 31.3% of respondents found campaigns involving dialogue with farmers, fishermen, and laborers to be attractive.
Next, affordable markets and sporting events were chosen by 29.5% and 24% of respondents, respectively.
Digital campaigns also featured. 20.2% of millennials and Gen Z found campaigns involving speaking on influencer podcasts appealing, followed by collaborative content with influencers, chosen by 14.2% of respondents.
From this list, the least popular campaign type was the use of banners, billboards, and posters, with only 6.1% choosing this option. 1% of respondents selected other campaign types.
This survey on the most appealing campaign types for young people used a multiple answer (MA) format, allowing respondents to select more than one option. The survey results are compiled in the report, *Politics in the Eyes of Young People: Perceptions and Trends of Gen Z & Millennials towards Presidential Candidates, Political Parties, and the 2024 Election Campaign*.
The survey involved 1,005 respondents proportionally distributed across Indonesia. The majority of respondents were from Java (54.4%), Sumatra (22.5%), and Sulawesi (7.8%). Respondents from Kalimantan, Bali-Nusa Tenggara, and Maluku Papua ranged from 3.6% to 6.4%.
Respondents consisted of Gen Z (ages 17-26, 50.4%) and millennials (ages 27-42, 49.6%). The gender breakdown was 60.6% male and 39.4% female.
Data collection was conducted online from October 11-17, 2023, using tSurvey's data collection platform and a non-probability sampling method. The survey has a margin of error of approximately 3.1% at a 95% confidence level.
