Based on the results of a survey conducted by *Kompas* Research and Development (Litbang) from July 27 to August 7, 2023, only seven political parties (parpol) passed the parliamentary threshold (PT) in a simulation of the 2024 General Election.
The parliamentary threshold set for the 2024 Legislative Election (Pileg) is 4%. This means that each political party must meet this minimum vote requirement to have representatives in the House of Representatives (DPR) or the Regional Representative Council (DPRD).
Of the seven top political parties whose electability passed the PT, the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) was the most successful, obtaining 24.4% in August 2023.
This result is a 1.1% increase from the political party electability survey conducted by *Kompas* Litbang in May 2023.
"This PDIP vote achievement confirms the upward trend in votes for the bull-emblem party amidst the intense movement of political party coalitions ahead of presidential candidate registration," wrote the *Kompas* Litbang team in their report on Thursday (August 24, 2023).
Following PDIP, Gerindra and the National Awakening Party (PKB) came next with 18.9% and 7.6% respectively.
This was followed by Golkar (7.2%), Democrat (7.0%), PKS (6.3%), and Nasdem (5.9%).
The remaining 10 political parties failed to meet the threshold, obtaining less than 4% of the vote. Several senior parties fell into this category, such as PAN and PPP, which received only 3.4% and 1.6% respectively.
Several parties had electability below 1%, including Hanura (0.8%), PSI (0.8%), and even PBB (0.1%). Meanwhile, 11.6% of respondents answered "don't know" or "didn't answer."
This periodic survey involved 1,364 respondents randomly selected using a stratified systematic sampling method across 38 provinces in Indonesia.
Data collection was conducted from July 27 to August 7, 2023, through face-to-face interviews. The survey has a margin of error of approximately 2.65% and a 95% confidence level.
