Other Services Lead Sectoral GDP Growth in Q3 2019

Other services and corporate services led the growth of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) sectoral growth in the third quarter of 2019. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the other services sector in the third quarter of this year recorded growth of 10.72% compared to the third quarter of the previous year (YoY). Similarly, the corporate services sector grew by 10.22% from the previous quarter.

Of the 17 sectors, 10 sectors recorded growth above the national GDP. Meanwhile, the other seven sectors were below national economic growth, including wholesale and retail trade (4.75%), water supply and waste management (4.66%), manufacturing (4.15%), and mining (1.94%).

As is known, the national economy in the July-September 2019 period, measured by the size of GDP at current prices, reached Rp 4,067.8 trillion. Meanwhile, when measured by the size of GDP at constant 2010 prices, it grew by 5.02% to Rp 2,818.9 trillion.
