Latest Indonesian Food Prices: Onions Up, Salt Down

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Thursday (19/9/2024) at 14.25 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include shallots, bulk wheat flour, chicken eggs, skipjack tuna, and broiler chicken.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as farmer-level corn, SPHP rice, whole garlic cloves, fine iodized salt, and packaged (non-bulk) wheat flour decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots saw the highest price increase of Rp200 (0.75%) to Rp26,780 per kg. Fine iodized salt experienced the largest price decrease of Rp100 (0.86%) to Rp11,500 per kg.
