Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Salt Price Up, Onions Down

Today, the prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (August 21, 2025) at 02:59 PM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include bulk wheat flour, pure beef, skipjack tuna, bulk cooking oil, and milkfish.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as shallots, packaged cooking oil, premium rice, large red chili, and garlic bulbs decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

Milkfish saw the highest increase of Rp5,000 (12.5%) to Rp45,000 per kg. Shallots, on the other hand, experienced the sharpest decline of Rp1,904 (3.86%) to Rp47,393 per kg.
