Average Length of Schooling in Batang Reaches 7.35 Years in 2025

The average length of schooling (ALS) for residents aged 25 and above in Batang, Central Java, reached 7.35 years in 2025.

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the ALS for residents in the region is below the average for Central Java Province, which reached 8.15 years in 2025.

Batang's ALS increased by 0.27 years (3.81%) compared to the previous year, which was 7.08 years. Meanwhile, in the last five years, the ALS increased by 0.48 years (6.99%).

This ALS indicates that the average Batang resident only attends school up to the 7th grade level. However, this ALS is still below the national average ALS of 9.07 years in 2025.

Compared to 34 other regencies/cities in Central Java Province, Batang's ALS is in 31st position. Other areas in the province with the highest ALS are Salatiga City (11.49 years), while the lowest ALS is Brebes Regency (6.61 years).
