Latest Food Prices in South Sumatra: Salt and Cayenne Pepper Prices Rise

Prices of several food items in South Sumatra today were observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Monday (October 27, 2025) at 13:55 WIB, out of 23 commodities, 11 saw increases and 9 saw decreases.

Commodities with increased prices include curly red chili, mackerel, skipjack tuna, dried soybeans (imported), and SPHP rice.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as whole garlic, medium rice, shallots, broiler chicken meat, and Minyakita decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red cayenne pepper surged the highest by Rp824 (2.34%) to Rp36,078 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of medium rice fell the sharpest by Rp65 (0.5%) to Rp12,907 per kg.

7. Red Cayenne Pepper: Rp36,078 per kg (up 2.34%)
8. Whole Garlic: Rp33,594 per kg (down 0.37%)
9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp29,012 per kg (up 0.4%)
10. Skipjack Tuna: Rp28,667 per kg (up 0.7%)
