Current Food Prices in East Java: Chili, Red Chili, and Oil Prices Drop

Prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (5/9/2025) at 08:41 AM WIB, out of 23 commodities, 6 commodities increased and 17 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include consumption sugar, corn at the farmer level, Minyakita cooking oil, premium rice, and pure beef.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as milkfish, consumption salt, bulk cooking oil, garlic bulbs, and large red chili decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

Corn at the farmer level increased the most by Rp519 (8.77%) to Rp6,438 per kg. Meanwhile, skipjack tuna prices fell the sharpest by Rp2,727 (8.65%) to Rp28,786 per kg.

5. Milkfish: Rp29,769 per kg (decrease 8.11%)
6. Garlic Bulbs: Rp29,588 per kg (decrease 1.05%)
7. Skipjack Tuna: Rp28,786 per kg (decrease 8.65%)
8. Curly Red Chili: Rp28,727 per kg (decrease 2.37%)
9. Large Red Chili: Rp26,467 per kg (decrease 4.42%)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp25,938 per kg (decrease 0.83%)
11. Red Cayenne Pepper: Rp25,133 per kg (decrease 1.48%)
12. Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp19,912 per liter (increase 0.43%)
13. Bulk Cooking Oil: Rp17,429 per liter (decrease 2.49%)
14. Minyakita: Rp16,906 per liter (increase 1.62%)
15. Consumption Sugar: Rp16,706 per kg (increase 0.99%)
