Latest Food Prices in South Sumatra: Red Chili Up, Cayenne Pepper Down

Prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Sunday (October 5, 2025) at 13.55 WIB, out of 23 commodities, 14 commodities increased and 7 commodities decreased.

Commodities with price increases include SPHP rice, consumption salt, milkfish, medium rice, and garlic bulb.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as shallots, dried soybeans (imported), skipjack tuna, mackerel scad, and red cayenne pepper decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The large red chili commodity increased the highest by Rp2,312 (4.55%) to Rp53,120 per kg. The price of red cayenne pepper decreased the sharpest by Rp440 (1.1%) to Rp39,638 per kg.

7. Shallots: Rp36,586 per kg (down 0.57%)
8. Garlic Bulb: Rp33,724 per kg (up 0.11%)
9. Skipjack Tuna: Rp28,226 per kg (down 0.15%)
