Sumatera Utara Food Price Update Today: Prices of Cooking Oil, Rice, and Chicken Drop (Wednesday, January 10, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in North Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Wednesday (10/1/2024) at 13:52 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 5 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are medium-grain rice, shallots, red chilies, pure beef, and iodized fine salt.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk wheat flour, broiler chicken, farmer-level corn, bulk cooking oil, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase of Rp5,220 (9.1%) to Rp62,610 per kg. Meanwhile, curly red chilies saw the lowest price decrease of Rp1,570 (4.5%) to Rp33,330 per kg.

6. Milkfish: Rp37,560 per kg (unchanged)
7. Skipjack Tuna: Rp34,910 per kg (down 2.51%)
8. Curly Red Chilies: Rp33,330 per kg (down 4.5%)
9. Broiler Chicken: Rp31,880 per kg (down 1.6%)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp27,260 per kg (down 0.69%)
11. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,030 per kg (down 0.64%)
