Food Prices Today, January 08 in South Sumatra: Bird's Eye Chili Up, Red Chili Down

Prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today were observed to decrease compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Thursday (January 8, 2026) at 4:34 PM WIB, out of 16 commodities, 2 commodities saw price increases and 3 commodities saw decreases.

Commodities with price increases were red bird's eye chili and curly red chili.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as Honan garlic, large red chili, and red onion decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of red bird's eye chili surged the highest by Rp2,083 (4.24%) to Rp51,250 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of large red chili decreased the most by Rp1,000 (2.32%) to Rp42,083 per kg.
