Food Prices Today (Jan 8) in West Java: Beef Up, Chili Down

Prices of several food ingredients in West Java today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

Based on data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Necessity Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Thursday (Jan 8, 2026) at 18:22 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 4 increased and 6 decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include beef hind leg, imported soybeans, Minyakita cooking oil, and Honan garlic.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as red shallots, red cayenne pepper, broiler chicken eggs, broiler chicken meat, and large red chilies decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Beef hind leg saw the highest increase of Rp1,000 (0.75%) to Rp134,375 per kg. Red cayenne pepper prices experienced the sharpest drop of Rp4,067 (7.33%) to Rp51,433 per kg.
