Today's Food Prices January 08 in East Java: Onions Up, Chili Down

Prices of several food commodities in East Java today were observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the Ministry of Trade's Staple Food Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Thursday (8/1/2026) at 17.02 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 3 increased and 4 decreased.

Commodities with increased prices were red onions, premium packaged palm cooking oil, and honan garlic.

Meanwhile, prices for several commodities such as large red chili, broiler eggs, red bird's eye chili, and broiler chicken meat decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red onions saw the highest jump of Rp318 (0.91%) to Rp35,212 per kg. Red bird's eye chili prices experienced the deepest drop of Rp1,257 (3.14%) to Rp38,826 per kg.

6. Curly Red Chili: Rp31,643 per kg (stable)
7. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp28,273 per kg (down 0.43%)
8. Large Red Chili: Rp25,015 per kg (down 1.67%)
9. Premium Packaged Palm Cooking Oil: Rp20,394 per liter (up 0.04%)
10. Bulk Palm Cooking Oil: Rp18,327 per liter (stable)
11. Minyakita: Rp16,809 per liter (stable)
