Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Buffalo Meat, Egg, and Onion Prices Fall

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

According to data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Monday (September 1, 2025) at 12:37 PM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 10 saw an increase and 13 experienced a decrease.

Commodities with price increases include packaged wheat flour, large red chili, Minyakita cooking oil, red cayenne pepper, and consumption sugar.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as red onion, pure beef, packaged cooking oil, mackerel, and broiler chicken meat decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

Curly red chili saw the highest jump of Rp8,165 (18.19%) to Rp53,048 per kg. Meanwhile, mackerel prices dropped the sharpest by Rp1,070 (1.94%) to Rp54,000 per kg.
