Latest Food Prices in Central Java: Salt Up, Chilies Down

The prices of several food commodities in Central Java today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Thursday (15/8/2024) at 16.01 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased in price and 10 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include skipjack tuna, dry soybean (import), medium rice, garlic cloves, and SPHP rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, milkfish, red chilies, granulated sugar, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp680 (6.4%) to Rp11,310 per kg. Meanwhile, red chilies experienced the steepest price drop, falling Rp1,770 (3.16%) to Rp54,280 per kg.

8. Mackerel: Rp30,940 per kg (down 0.26%)
9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp26,390 per kg (up 0.76%)
