Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Red Chili Up, Onions Down

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today were observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency's (Bapanas) food price panel data on Wednesday (20/8/2025) at 3:00 PM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 8 decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include large red chili, garlic bulb, red cayenne pepper, consumption salt, and packaged cooking oil.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as skipjack tuna, broiler chicken meat, packaged wheat flour, mackerel, and shallots decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Large red chili commodity surged highest by Rp1,916 (5.41%) to Rp37,333 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of shallots dropped most sharply by Rp1,594 (3.13%) to Rp49,297 per kg.
