Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chili Rises, Onion Drops

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today were observed to decrease compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (2/10/2025) at 15.06 WIB, out of 24 commodities, 9 increased and 14 decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include medium rice, curly red chili, consumption salt, red cayenne pepper, and consumption sugar.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as red onion, corn at farmer level, pure beef, large red chili, and packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red cayenne pepper saw the highest increase of Rp1,414 (2.79%) to Rp52,081 per kg. Red onion prices had the deepest decrease of Rp951 (3.1%) to Rp29,721 per kg.
