Indonesia's Current Food Prices: Prices of Oil, Eggs, and Chilies Rise

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Thursday (4/7/2024) at 08.01 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 19 saw price increases and 2 saw decreases.

Commodities that increased in price include medium-grain rice, milkfish, Indian mackerel, farmer-level corn, and pure beef.

Meanwhile, the prices of some commodities such as bulk cooking oil and bulk wheat flour decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices saw the highest increase, jumping Rp2,610 (5.55%) to Rp49,620 per kg. Bulk wheat flour prices saw the largest decrease, dropping Rp90 (0.87%) to Rp10,210 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 21 food commodities in Indonesia according to Bapanas on July 4, 2024, at 08.01 WIB.

7. Broiler Chicken: Rp37,240 per kg (up 2.5%)
8. Milkfish: Rp33,990 per kg (up 2.47%)
9. Skipjack Tuna: Rp33,280 per kg (up 5.48%)
10. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp30,330 per kg (up 2.54%)
11. Granulated Sugar: Rp18,180 per kg (up 0.5%)
