The Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in East Lampung Reached 10.59% in 2023

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in East Lampung Regency, Lampung, was 10.59% in 2023.

This figure decreased by 4.82% from the previous year's 15.41%, while over the last 5 years it has decreased by 2.65%.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.53% in 2023. This means that the PoU in East Lampung Regency is higher than the national average.

The National Food Agency (Bapanas) defines PoU as a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life. This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.
