1,822 Hotspots Detected in Indonesia in the Last 24 Hours (Saturday, August 2, 2025)

Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring in the last 24 hours shows that 1,822 hotspots were detected in Indonesia. This number of hotspots increased by 114 points compared to the previous period.

This data is the result of Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Saturday (August 2, 2025) at 11:12 AM WIB. Of the 1,822 detected hotspots, 133 points have a high hotspot confidence level, 1,653 points are medium scale, and 36 points are low scale.

Hotspot confidence levels are divided into 3 scales. Low scale has a range of 0 - 29, medium scale 30 - 79, and high scale 80 - 100. The higher the hotspot confidence level, the higher the likelihood of forest and land fires occurring in a particular area.

The highest number of hotspots were detected in West Kalimantan, with 836 points. East Kalimantan ranks second with the most hotspots, with 181 points. Riau is in third place with 155 hotspots.

As many as 84 hotspots were detected in East Nusa Tenggara, followed by Bangka Belitung Islands with 77 hotspots, and Central Kalimantan and West Nusa Tenggara each having 71 and 56 detected hotspots.

A hotspot is a coordinate point of an area that has a higher surface temperature than its surroundings, and not the number of forest and land fire incidents.

However, a large number of clustered hotspots in an area indicates the occurrence of forest and land fires. This means that hotspot data detected by remote sensing satellites is still the most effective for monitoring forest and land fires over a wide area.
