Mahakam Hulu Residents' Food Consumption Deficiency Figure Rises to 9.02% in 2025

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Mahakam Hulu Regency, East Kalimantan reached 9.02% in 2025.

This figure increased by 0.84% from the previous year's 8.18%, while over the last 5 years it rose by 0.82%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that the PoU in Mahakam Hulu Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to observe food and nutrition security conditions.

This means that residents of Mahakam Hulu Regency who consume food but lack sufficient energy needs account for up to 9.02% of the total population.
