909 Hotspots Detected in Indonesia in the Last 24 Hours (Monday, August 25, 2025)

Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring in the last 24 hours shows that 909 hotspots were detected in Indonesia. This number of hotspots decreased by 930 points compared to the previous period.

The data is the result of Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Monday (August 25, 2025) at 11:30 AM. Of the 909 detected hotspots, 11 points had a high hotspot confidence level, 871 points were at a medium scale, and 27 points were at a low scale.

Hotspot confidence levels are divided into 3 scales. Low scale ranges from 0 - 29, medium scale 30 - 79, and high scale 80 - 100. The higher the hotspot confidence level, the higher the likelihood of forest and land fires occurring in a particular area.

The most detected hotspots were in West Kalimantan with 649 points. East Nusa Tenggara ranked second with 73 hotspots. West Nusa Tenggara was in third place with 70 hotspots.

A total of 43 hotspots were detected in East Java, followed by Central Java with 12 hotspots, and East Kalimantan and South Sumatra each having 10 hotspots detected.

A hotspot is a coordinate point in an area that has a higher surface temperature than its surroundings, and not the number of forest and land fire incidents.

However, a large number of clustered hotspots in an area indicates the occurrence of forest and land fires. This means that hotspot data from remote sensing satellite detection is still the most effective in monitoring forest and land fires over a large area.
