Prevalence of Undernourishment in Blitar Reached 11.99% in 2024

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Blitar Regency, East Java, was 11.99% in 2024.

This figure increased by 1.08% from the previous year's 10.91%, while over the last 5 years, it rose by 2.8%.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Blitar Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.
