Between October 7 and December 14, 2023, the Israeli-Hamas war killed approximately 19,000 Palestinians.
This includes 18,787 in the Gaza Strip and 276 in the West Bank.
During the same period, the total number of Israeli casualties was approximately 1,316.
This casualty data was compiled by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) from the Gaza Ministry of Health and the Israeli government.
Amidst this war, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) again held a vote on a resolution for a ceasefire in Palestine.
According to *Al Jazeera*, on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, 153 out of 193 participating countries voted in favor of a ceasefire.
This is an increase from the October 2023 vote, when only 120 countries voted in favor.
Some of the countries supporting the ceasefire include Australia, Canada, China, North Korea, South Korea, Denmark, Finland, India, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Iran, Iraq, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Switzerland, and the UAE.
23 countries abstained, a decrease from 45 in October 2023.
10 countries rejected the ceasefire resolution, also a decrease from 14 in October 2023. Those still rejecting the resolution as of December 2023 are:
