295 Hotspots Detected in Indonesia in the Last 24 Hours (Tuesday, August 26, 2025)

Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring in the last 24 hours shows that 295 hotspots were detected in Indonesia. This number of hotspots decreased by 614 points compared to the previous period.

The data is the result of Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Tuesday (26/8/2025) at 11.30 AM WIB. Of the 295 detected hotspots, 6 points had a high confidence level, 263 points were medium scale, and 26 points were low scale.

The hotspot confidence level is divided into 3 scales. The low scale has a range of 0 - 29, the medium scale 30 - 79, and the high scale 80 - 100. The higher the hotspot confidence level, the higher the likelihood of forest and land fires in a certain area.

The most detected hotspots were in West Nusa Tenggara with 45 points. East Java ranked second with 42 hotspots. East Nusa Tenggara was in third place with 36 hotspots.

A total of 34 hotspots were detected in South Kalimantan, followed by West Sumatra with 26 hotspots, and Central Java and South Sumatra each had 21 and 18 detected hotspots.

A hotspot is a coordinate point in an area that has a higher surface temperature than its surroundings, and not the number of forest and land fire incidents.

However, a large number of clustered hotspots in an an area indicates the occurrence of forest and land fires. This means that hotspot data from remote sensing satellite detection is still the most effective in monitoring forest and land fires for large areas.
