KLHK: Number of Hotspots in Indonesia Reaches 1,416 in the Last 24 Hours (Monday, July 28, 2025)

Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring in the last 24 hours shows that 1,416 hotspots were detected in Indonesia. This number of hotspots decreased by 413 points compared to the previous period.

The data is the result of Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Monday (July 28, 2025) at 11:51 AM WIB. Of the 1,416 detected hotspots, 104 points have a high hotspot confidence level, 1278 points are medium scale, and 34 points are low scale.

The hotspot confidence level is divided into 3 scales. The low scale has a range of 0 - 29, the medium scale 30 - 79, and the high scale 80 - 100. The higher the hotspot confidence level, the higher the likelihood of forest and land fires occurring in a particular area.

The most detected hotspots were in West Kalimantan, with 800 points. East Kalimantan ranked second with 87 hotspots. Aceh was in third place with 60 hotspots.

As many as 52 hotspots were detected in East Nusa Tenggara, followed by Riau with 52 hotspots, and Jambi and Bangka Belitung Islands each had 43 and 42 detected hotspots.

A hotspot is the coordinate point of an area that has a higher surface temperature than its surroundings, and not the number of forest and land fire incidents.

However, a large number of clustered hotspots in an area indicates the occurrence of forest and land fires. This means that hotspot data from remote sensing satellite detection is still the most effective for monitoring forest and land fires in large areas.
