Prevalence of Food Consumption Inadequacy in Deli Serdang Increased by 2.99% in the Last 5 Years

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (Prevalence of Undernourishment/PoU) in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, was 7.46% in 2024.

This figure decreased by 2.24% from the previous year's 9.7%, while in the last 5 years, it increased by 2.99%.

The average PoU for Indonesia was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Deli Serdang Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.
