Trenggalek's Food Consumption Insufficiency Rate Rises 14.75% in 2024

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Trenggalek Regency, East Java, reached 14.75% in 2024.

This figure increased by 2.92% from the previous year's 11.83%, and by 2.96% in the last 5 years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.27% in 2024, meaning Trenggalek Regency's PoU is higher than the national average.

The National Food Agency (Bapanas) defines PoU as a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that 14.75% of Trenggalek Regency's population consumes food but has insufficient energy intake.
