1,621 Hotspots Detected in Indonesia in the Last 24 Hours (Sunday, August 3, 2025)

Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring in the last 24 hours showed 1,621 hotspots detected in Indonesia. This number of hotspots decreased by 201 points compared to the previous period.

The data is the result of Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Sunday (August 3, 2025) at 11:12 AM WIB. Of the 1,621 detected hotspots, 81 points had a high hotspot confidence level, 1508 points were at a medium scale, and 32 points were at a low scale.

The hotspot confidence level is divided into 3 scales. Low scale has a range of 0 - 29, medium scale 30 - 79, and high scale 80 - 100. The higher the hotspot confidence level, the higher the possibility of forest and land fires occurring in a certain area.

The most detected hotspots were in Riau with 700 points. East Nusa Tenggara ranked second with the highest number of hotspots at 145 points. West Kalimantan was in third position with 106 hotspots.

As many as 80 hotspots were detected in East Kalimantan, followed by North Kalimantan with 61 hotspots, and East Java and Central Kalimantan each had 55 and 47 detected hotspots.

A hotspot is a coordinate point in an area that has a higher surface temperature compared to its surroundings, and not the number of forest and land fire incidents.

However, a large number of clustered hotspots in an area indicates the occurrence of forest and land fires. This means that hotspot data from remote sensing satellite detection is still the most effective for monitoring forest and land fires over a wide area.
