Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in Hulu Sungai Selatan Rises 1.26% in the Last Year

Referring to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency, South Kalimantan reached 6.16% in 2025.

This figure increased by 1.26% from the previous year's 4.9%, while in the last 5 years it rose by 2.22%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that the PoU in Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes insufficient food to meet the energy needs for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition security conditions.

This means that residents of Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency who consume food but do not meet their energy needs account for less than 6.16% of the total population.
