123 Hotspots Detected in Indonesia in the Last 24 Hours (Friday, November 21, 2025)

Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring in the last 24 hours shows that 123 hotspots were detected in Indonesia.

This data is the result of Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Friday (11/21/2025) at 11:18 AM WIB. Of the 123 detected hotspots, 1 point had a high hotspot confidence level, 113 points were at a medium scale, and 9 points were at a low scale.

Hotspot confidence levels are divided into 3 scales. Low scale ranges from 0 - 29, medium scale 30 - 79, and high scale 80 - 100. The higher the hotspot confidence level, the higher the likelihood of forest and land fires occurring in a certain area.

The most detected hotspots were in East Nusa Tenggara with 30 points. Central Sulawesi ranked second with the highest number of hotspots at 22 points. Southeast Sulawesi was in third place with 21 hotspots.

As many as 12 hotspots were detected in South Sulawesi, followed by North Maluku with 9 hotspots, and West Sulawesi and West Sumatra each having 5 and 5 detected hotspots, respectively.

A hotspot is a coordinate point of an area that has a higher surface temperature than its surroundings, and not the number of forest and land fire incidents.

However, a large number of clustered hotspots in an area indicates the occurrence of forest and land fires. This means that hotspot data from remote sensing satellite detection is still the most effective in monitoring forest and land fires for large areas.
