Melawi Residents' Food Consumption Deficiency Rate Drops by 19.49% in 2025

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the Prevalence of Undernourishment (PoU) in Melawi Regency, West Kalimantan reached 19.49% in 2025.

This figure decreased by 0.79% from the previous year's 20.28%, while over the last 5 years it has dropped by 7.47%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that the PoU in Melawi Regency is higher than the national average.

The National Food Agency (Bapanas) defines PoU as a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for normal, active, and healthy living.

This indicator can be used as a tool to observe food and nutrition security conditions.
