Prevalence of Insufficient Food Consumption in Brebes Reaches 7.9% in 2024

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Brebes Regency, Central Java, was 7.9% in 2024.

This figure decreased by 1.47% from the previous year's 9.37%, while in the last 5 years, it decreased by 3.64%.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Brebes Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess the condition of food and nutrition insecurity.
