Poso Residents' Food Consumption Deficiency Rate Rises to 8.37% in 2025

Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the Prevalence of Undernourishment (PoU) in Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi reached 8.37% in 2025.

The figure increased by 0.22% from the previous year's 8.15%, while in the last 5 years it rose by 1.06%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that PoU in Poso Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to observe food and nutrition security conditions.

This means that residents of Poso Regency who consume food but lack sufficient energy needs account for up to 8.37% of the total population.

Compared to the other 12 regencies/cities in Central Sulawesi Province, Poso Regency ranks 4th in terms of PoU. The regions with the lowest PoU (top ranks) are Palu City (6.41%) and the highest (last rank) are Banggai Islands Regency (19.4%).
