Prevalence of Undernourishment in Sukabumi Decreased by 0.16% in the Last Year

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Sukabumi Regency, West Java, was 5.82% in 2024.

This figure decreased by 0.16% from the previous year's 5.98%, while in the last 5 years, it increased by 1.63%.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Sukabumi Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess the condition of food and nutrition insecurity.
