Prevalence of Insufficient Food Consumption in Pidie Jaya Reaches 9.67% in 2024

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of food undernourishment (Prevalence of Undernourishment/PoU) in Pidie Jaya Regency, Aceh reached 9.67% in 2024.

This figure increased by 0.2% from the previous year's 9.47%, while in the last 5 years it increased by 3.06%.

Indonesia's average PoU was 8.27% in 2024. This means that PoU in Pidie Jaya Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for a normal, active, and healthy life. This indicator can be used as a tool to assess the condition of food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that less than 9.67% of the total population in Pidie Jaya Regency consume food but lack sufficient energy intake.
