The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded four districts/cities in North Sumatra with a weekly average vaccination rate above the provincial average of 3,657.22 doses as of Friday, April 15, 2022.
The three top districts/cities with vaccination rates above 5,000 doses are Simalungun, Langkat, and Asahan, with 7,506 doses, 5,455 doses, and 4,584 doses respectively.
Simalungun recorded the highest weekly average vaccination rate in North Sumatra with 7,506 doses. As of yesterday, a total of 1.13 million doses have been used. According to the national dashboard recapitulation, the region has achieved 71.74 percent full vaccination coverage.
According to the Ministry of Health, the available vaccine stock in this district will run out in the next 16 days. This remaining usage period is calculated based on the available stock of 124,660 doses, and vaccine usage is the highest in North Sumatra.
Following Simalungun is Langkat with 5,455 doses. Vaccination in this district is reported to be lower. The daily average weekly vaccination statistics remain unchanged compared to the previous day.
Next is Asahan with a weekly average vaccination rate of 4,584 doses and 75.11 percent full vaccination coverage; Deli Serdang with 4,372 doses and 71.69 percent full vaccination coverage; and Tapanuli Selatan with a weekly average vaccination rate of 3,126 doses and 78.03 percent full vaccination coverage.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest average vaccination rates include Simalungun, Rokan Hulu, and Lampung Tengah, with average vaccination rates of 7,506 doses, 6,305 doses, and 6,083 doses respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
