A report from the Ministry of Health shows that as of 12:00 PM on Monday, August 16, 2021, 28,193,002 people in Indonesia had received two doses of the Covid-19 coronavirus vaccine. This number is equivalent to 52.45% of the total recipients of the first dose, which amounted to 53,742,129 people.
The group that received the most Covid-19 vaccines was public officials. A total of 26,932,132 people, or 155.43% of the target, had received the first dose of the vaccine. Of this number, 16,070,709 people, or 92.75% of the target, had received the second dose.
Next, 17,783,025 vulnerable and general members of the public, or 12.59% of the target, had received the first dose. 6,353,234 of them, or 4.50% of the target, had also received the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
The elderly group is also a priority of the government's vaccination program. The number of elderly people who have received the Covid-19 vaccine is 5,027,883 for the first dose and 3,471,709 for the second dose. These numbers only reach 23.33% and 16.11% of the target, respectively.
Health workers who have received the vaccine number 1,612,420 for the first dose and 1,490,936 for the second dose. These numbers reach 109.78% and 101.51% of the target, respectively.
Meanwhile, children aged 12-17 who have received the first dose only reached 2,386,669, or 8.94% of the target. Of this number, only 806,414, or 3.02% of the target, received the second dose. This is because child vaccination only began at the end of June 2021.
Although vaccination has been underway, the public is urged to remain disciplined in implementing the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. This is important to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
