Prevalence of Food Consumption Inadequacy in Bandung Reaches 5.8% in 2024

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Bandung Regency, West Java, was 5.8% in 2024.

This figure increased by 0.61% from 5.19% in the previous year, and by 2.03% over the last 5 years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Bandung Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that less than 5.8% of the total population in Bandung Regency consumes food but has insufficient energy intake.
