Ministry of Environment and Forestry: Number of Hotspots in Indonesia Reached 1,505 in the Last 24 Hours (Saturday, July 26, 2025)

Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring in the last 24 hours shows that 1,505 hotspots were detected in Indonesia. This number of hotspots decreased by 549 points compared to the previous period.

The data is the result of Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Saturday (July 26, 2025) at 11.51 AM WIB. Of the 1,505 detected hotspots, 34 points have a high hotspot confidence level, 1432 points are at a medium scale, and 39 points are at a low scale.

Hotspot confidence levels are divided into 3 scales. The low scale has a range of 0 - 29, the medium scale 30 - 79, and the high scale 80 - 100. The higher the hotspot confidence level, the higher the likelihood of a forest and land fire occurring in a specific area.

The most detected hotspots were in West Kalimantan, with 495 points. East Kalimantan ranks second with 94 hotspots. North Kalimantan is in third position with 85 hotspots.

As many as 80 hotspots were detected in East Nusa Tenggara, followed by South Sumatra with 64 hotspots, and Aceh and South Kalimantan each having 62 and 57 detected hotspots, respectively.

A hotspot is a coordinate point in an area that has a higher surface temperature than its surroundings, and not the number of forest and land fire incidents.

However, a large number of hotspots clustered in an area indicates the occurrence of forest and land fires. This means that hotspot data from remote sensing satellite detection is still the most effective in monitoring forest and land fires over a wide area.
